Dion Demands the RCMP Engage in Bernier Bungling

I see Mr. Dion is in the Globe and Mail today calling for the RCMP to come in a clarify if the Bernier bungling of classified Cabinet information is serious or not.

We need this to happen and I called for the RCMP to come in on this matter in my May 26th posting.

The Globe and Mail did a strong set of stories on the implications of l'Affaire Bernier on the weekend. Good job of serious journalism that is worth the time to read. It makes the point that it is not good enough to dwell on the titillation of the scandal. We need to know just what the Coulliard connection to Hell's Angles means to the quality of the security of our government. Her past biker gang relationships and her role in securing a contract to transport criminals in Quebec is cause for concern too.

The possibility that there was a Hell's Angel's contract out on Ms. Coulliard's life means we need to worry about her well being now too. The shift in attention has to be to the larger issues of security and public safety as well as the need to worry about the safety of certain citizens as well.

So far too many people who are i the know not talking for reasons of "national Security." The information vacuum is leaving the rumour mill to take over and fill in the blanks with bluster and conspiracies. This is all very silly at one end of the story but deadly serious at the other end.

Call in the RCMP Mr. Prime Minister and stop the silliness and use your power and office to get to the bottom of this serious situation.

Why didn't the Liberals call in the RCMP for the sponsorship scandal? Why did they merely institute a public inquiry? This shameful doublespeak is a little sad and disgusting.

Remember when you cried wolf about the Cadman affair but the RCMP found that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE WRONG. Your party loses credibility everyday by crying about the CPC but refusing to go to an election.

  3. A judicial inquiry on Adscam was just the start. Many criminal charges were laid and criminal trials, convictions, guilty pleas, money recovered and lots of folks are in jail...you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

As for Cadman - there was not a finding of nothing wrong. There was insufficient evidence to warrant a criminal charge. That is a long way from saying nothing was wrong in the Cadman affair. Canadians know there was a skuzzy deal offered – Cadman refused and that let the Cons off the hook.

When will Harper call the promised inquiry on Mulroney-Schreiber and when will he appear to testify before the Commons committee investigating Bernier?

Stop the superficial factoids and give your head a shake before you say such silly things again …or at least do so in your own name. Your credibility is not well served by being stupid and cowardly.

I'm being "stupid". A inquiry inquiry is not a criminal investigation. No evidence given at a public inquiry can be used in superior court as evidence in any fashion whatsover, you idiot. I guess I should not go down to your level by calling you a name, but maybe I have to dumb it down so you understand. I hope all liberals are not so unintelligent.

  5. Anon @ 7:02 - you and I agree a judicial inquiry is NOT a criminal investigation. But Gomery was not the end of Adscam. The RCMP subsequently did its own investigation and laid criminal charges - very successfully as I pointed out in the post.

You have this scam all figured out - you just tend to use some of the facts...only those that serve your purpose...instead of all the facts that matter so one can garner a true understanding the issues...kind of like how you hide your true identity.

This tactic is not stupid. It is deceitful...

The liberals should have called for a criminal investigation as soon as possible. There was no need for a public inquiry beforehand. Even then they were dragging their feet. Canadians have punished them for that and will never forget the greatest political scandal in Canada - that perpetrated by a group of liberals. That my friend is deceitful.
